EX1 / Audio Dubbing

Week 4

Exercise 1 Brief

In project one, we were provided with a short clip of Everything Everywhere All at Once along with subtitles scripts. From the clip, we were instructed to create a Google sheet that includes the scene breakdown with the links to the sound effects and ambience sound according to the timeline.

Audio Breakdown
We were formed into a group of five to complete the sheet together, and I took part in breaking down the timeline with dialogues. After filling in the scene information, I added the links to the sound effects and ambience sound according to the description individually.

To gather the sound effects and ambience sounds, I used these two websites:

Below is the completed sheet of Audio Breakdown:

SFX Editing on Adobe Premiere Pro
After working on the scene breakdown, we were then instructed to sync the audio into the clip using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Before adding in the dubbs, I placed the SFX audio first. I left out the first three audio tracks for dubbing later on. Below is the exported clip with sound effects and ambience sounds.

Dubbing Process
Below are my recorded dubbing files with each script:

After exporting my voice records, I moved onto Adobe Premiere Pro to sync the dubbed files to the clip.

To make Waymond's voice tone deeper, I used the Pitch Shifter tool from Audio Effects and decreased the semi-tones. I also used the speed/ duration tool to speed up my dubbing to sync with the original clip.
