Factors that influence and determine the format of a book:
- Type of binding
- Type of paper
- Size
The Book / Historical formats
Different formats used across time in different civilizations in the world:
Iran-Iraq = Mesopotamian civilization
Egypt = Ancient Egyptian civilization
India-Pakistan-Afghanistan = Indus Valley civilization
China = Han Chinese civilization
Europe (Turkey & beyond ) = European civilization

EXERCISES
Exercise 1 - Text Formatting
For the first exercise, Mr Hijjaz taught us how to set up a document for text formatting. We were also instructed to format the texts from the 3000-word write-ups from content generation.

Exercise 2 - Mockup Making
For exercise 2, I watched the tutorial video from Mr Vinod about testing three different book sizes for our book. After deciding on the size, we cut out the paper into the chosen size.
Exercise 3 - Signature Folding Systems (8+8=16)
For exercise 3, I followed Mr Vinod's tutorial video on how to create a signature folding system.

Exercise 4 - Classical Grid Structure
In exercise 4, we were instructed to watch another tutorial video from Mr Vinod about how to draw a Van de Graff on paper and how we can set a manual grid from this grid structure.

After the first try on paper, we moved to Adobe InDesign to create a digital grid using the same method.

Exercise 5 - Determining Grids
For this exercise, Mr Hijjaz instructed us to determine and explore different grid structures in class.

Exercise 6 - Form & Movement Exercises
In week 7, Mr Hijjaz guided us in creating form and movement in the document. I used the first two chapters of my story for text formatting and used a scene from Valkyrie's Meikyuu Denshi Kairou music video.
